Are you Esau? Would you have sold your birth right for a bowl of stew? Well the author of Made to Crave - 21 day devotional refers to a scripture in Corinthians....
"No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it" (1 Corinthians 10:13)
I know there have been times that I was Esau, so desperate to sooth my emotions with sugar I didn't care what the cost.....I have given up what was right and good...for what was bad for me. I have even eaten sugar and other yeast products knowing full well they were going to make me very sick. (I have been diagnosed with Candida - which is an allergy to yeast)
So today, I choose to make better food choices. I choose to believe that God will show me a way out of my temptation. However, I will also be prepared. Don't be caught in desperation for food and be tempted to something that will take you away from your goal of Wellness. Be Prepared! I always have a small baggie of almonds or an apple in my purse, desk drawer, car, etc...these types of snack always help me to stay on track and tied me over until I am able to eat a healthy meal that would be pleasing to God's temple...which is my body!
These devotionals are really helping me stay focused on my goal of Wellness and closeness to God. I have now lost 8 lbs since January!!

Congrats on your weight loss! I'm down 8 pounds too since doing South Beach. This is definitely something I think most women struggle with; being tempted by/with food (especially chocolate). Hope you are having a great Lord's Day.
ReplyDeleteHi Heather - that is awesome!! My sister and bro in law LOVE south beach, it is very mediterranean....anything that limits carbs and sugar really does help you to feel better. The the most amazing thing I have noticed since eating less red meat and more fish and chicken is the amount of energy I have!! I have to lose 15 more lbs....so I hope I can stay on this roll...so I can lose another roll...HE HE HE
