Hi Dolls,
Yesterday went fairly well. I stuck to rule No. 1 of the French Women's Manifesto. I ate my three meals. Although I did have a morning fruit and cheese snack. And after dinner I had a square of good quality dark chocolate which is totally allowed. I didn't get any exercise in but kept busy around the house doing this and that. A rule for the French is what they call the slow burn....which just means...keep moving...especially after dinner. Make Lunch your larger meal and have a light dinner. They eat a LOT of soup....So i will feature them on My Pages. My next soup will be the Vegetable soup made by Mireille Guiliano's of course, but I will also feature Mon Cheri Julia Child. Love Her!
The Chicken turned out LOVELY on the grill. It is so hot here in Illinois that I was not even hungry for it, so I am having it today for lunch.
Which brings me to the planning aspect of how to make this work. I usually make a soup, a couple main dishes, and a vege dish or two over the weekend and the work week is easier on me. So my suggestion is to find a day or two in the week and prepare a few meals. This is an old idea but it really works for us 21 Century housewifes who need all the help we can get.
I forgot to tell you that I also made Leek Soup to rid me of my vacation bloat and I can not tell you how quickly this soup works. It is truly a Miracle Soup as noted by the creator...Mireille Guiliano - and you will find the recipe in My Pages....
Today's Meal Plan...
Break - 2 whole wheat toast with butter and cinnamon sugar, 2 cups black coffee
Lunch - Rosemary Chicken (Breast meat, no skin), Asparagus(steamed), Spinach Stuffed Mushrooms. (they turned out..just ok...next time I will make them with a bit of white wine. It makes a big difference in the flavor)
Dinner - Leek Soup, gouda cheese and whole wheat crackers, peaches and blueberries with Greek Yogurt
KISSES!
