Hi Dolls - IT'S SPRING!!
When the season's change I always feel a renewed sense of myself; I have a power or a willingness to tackle things I wouldn't normally think about....that is what I LOVE about Spring. I am so lucky to have come across an amazing book called "Made to Crave" by Lysa TerKeurst.
I am doing the 21 day Devotional Challenge...and started yesterday. This first point is very powerful.
I will sum it up for you. As women...we always are talking about our cravings...right, chocolate, potato chips, candy, ice cream...or even emotional cravings...attention, affection, compliments....I could go on and on. But the author makes an amazing point.
We are Made to Crave GOD!
You can purchase this book on Kindle or Amazon for quite cheap...
but I will be posting her wisdom daily.
DAY 1 - Chocolate is my Comfort and Deliverer.
Ok, the title of this alone sends conviction up and down my spine. SO many times I have turned to chocolate instead of God...I am a Food Addict, and a certified chocoholic......I am in recovery so AMEN! But it's a struggle every day to not turn to food for comfort but to God.
God made us to crave...he made food to nourish our bodies, to use to celebrate, and energize our bodies...He did not make food to over indulge...this is sinful.
The process of getting healthy has to be MORE about our journey to be close to God rather than dropping a few vanity pounds or dress sizes so we can LOOK better.
As the author states..."It's about recalibrating our Souls." Change for the right reasons.
This journey could be one of the most significant Spiritual Journeys I have embarked on!
MY GOAL FOR THE DAY....is Everytime I eat something...I am going to THINK...is this really worth it? Am I eating this because I am hungry or because I need comfort.
Then I am going to go to God in prayer and thank him for my food and drink (in remembrance of him)
Kisses,
JennyMay
I'm doing one of her older ones "What Happens When Women Walk in Faith" and really enjoying it! The group I'm meeting with just met this morning. I felt lifted up and encouraged all day long.
