Hi Dolls
It's homecoming weekend and we are getting ready for the football game and dance tomorrow night.
AFTER - This pic was taken a year later...The dress I am wearing is from a second hand store down the street from where I work. This dress was about 8 dollars...it's a long button up dress from the 80's and I get so many compliments on it every time I wear it. Some things just never go out of style. ***NOTE - You can tell I have lost those 7 lbs from last year.

Last year. My husband did the sweetest thing...he brought me roses on Homecoming day and called me his homecoming Girl....at the time I was putting the principles of Fascinating Womanhood into practice and I can not tell you how a few simple changes have enriched our marriage.
BEFORE - Last year I had short hair...since applying the principle of femininity I have been growing my hair a bit longer...It does makes me feel more like a women and my husband likes it better also. It's easier in the summer because I can just put it in a cute ponytail.

I love these place mats! They were my Grandmother's. Don't worry. We never actually eat on them.

I encourage you and I to love our husbands and family in an unselfish manner this weekend.
I am so grateful for the family God has given me and have found little times throughout the day for myself. I know in the blink of an eye they will be gone and I will have an "empty nest" and be wondering what happened! SO I choose to enjoy everything right now. One of the best lines of a movie that I will never forget is from...."The Graduate"....when Dustin Hoffman says....Be Present.
So what do you do to get time to yourself?

I have set up my bedroom as a sanctuary for me and my husband. We have a sound machine clock radio so I can listen to thunder, the ocean, the rain forest, or music while I read. I usually get into bed around 9;15...start reading a delicious book and the kids will come in one by one and chat with me. I get some time to relax but also one on one time with each of them. They have learned that this is the best time to come to me to ask for something...as I am in such a good mood. Right now in this pic it is set up for sewing...but I pack all this away of course before bed.
Enjoy all of the colors of the season that God gave us...
Like in your Food choices!
Enjoy the beautiful Sunrise and Sunset Colors of the Fall.
And most of all...........BE PRESENT!
Kisses Kittens,
Jenny May
Forgot to tell you how much I love your longer hair. I have been doing the same. My hubby comments about how much he likes it all the time!
ReplyDeleteMy "empty nest" is just around the corner...my last one is a high school sopohmore...where does the time go? :(
ReplyDeleteThanks Carrie....today is a perfect day for a slice of apple pie and a cup of coffee!!! How is the weather by you? Here in the midwest it's very fall!
ReplyDeleteI am still growing my hair but I don't think I will go too much longer..it looks healthy and shiny now and that is ok with me.
I have mixed feelings about the empty nest...I have many many plans for the girls room which will become my sewing, painting, women's room once they have flown the coop...so I look forward to that part...there will be a trundle bed in there so they can come back any time! HEE!
Kisses,
JennyMay
