Hi,
I am blogging away this week...I want to hit on the Manifesto's because thinking about them has helped me to stay on my Sugar fast.......day 13 btw!
No. 5 is about Balance. That is what I have been trying to incorporate into my lifestyle and into the Lose it for Life. Now! Program. Of Course, I want to lose 20 lbs, but also so I feel better and am healthier..the more I research belly fat the more concerned I get that I have too much of it.
Anyway....I love food, I love fashion, I love homemaking, and LOVE being a wife and mother...But I fall short when I am not feeling good about myself. I am not saying you should be arrogant or self centered....Just Healthy! And balance is a good thing to teach your children and to bring into your household. So in the end...It IS all about being good to yourself. Finding pleasure in living! In this way you can be good to others....you will have more energy to care for your children, husband and home.
God loves you - why can't you love you??
So I continue to find balance....
Incorporating Balance into my 21st Century Life.
1. Adding Daily Activity...Today I walked my 30 minutes this morning. Walking in the morning is such a relief. I thought I would hate it. BUT it gives me so much more energy throughout the day.
2. Portion Control-Choosing Indulgences...Today I ate only half my burger at lunch and a portion of the fries. Had an ice coffee instead of a dessert....feel very satisfied, I treated myself but did not go overboard.
3. Waking Early for "Me" time - this is when I get to quietly sit with my God. Pray for my loved ones. Study and Learn....then I prepare meals...Breakfast, lunches for me, the kids and hubby, and maybe start dinner (could be that I just pull the meat out of the freezer to thaw)...Take my Walk! Once I get home...everyone is just about gone...I can start getting ready for work, throw in some laundry, wipe down the counters, maybe dust or vaccuum so WE can come home to a clean house. (In my opinion..."Me" time makes me a better Mom, Wife, and worker in general so I don't feel bad about this time to myself at all.)
4. Today, since I had a larger lunch...I will COMPENSATE by having a light supper and walking with the hubby later tonight......this is the best way to never feel deprived.
Ideas for a Light Supper
1. Cold Chicken, celery stuffed with cream cheese, raw veges, fruit
